Beware, Chewing Can Be a Risk Factor for Oral Cancer

A study published by the National Library of Medicine, USA, studied since 1994 on 177,271 adult men with 19.2 percent of them chewing betel nut. In 2006, there were cases associated with oral problems and oral cancer.

Meanwhile, betel nut while smoking also increases the risk of oral cancer significantly.

According to WHO, betel nut can indeed trigger oral cancer. This is because the mixture of areca nut and lime has carcinogenic properties.
